Twinkle Twinkle falling star
I decided to start my first blog with this Quiet play paper piecing pattern “Catch the falling star”. I got this pattern in “Make modern” magazine issue 15. I did few quilts with this pattern and I have to say it’s everybody’s favorite. When i running out of ideas I just use or propose this pattern and it never fails me. So stay with me while I’m sewing…
Once you purchase your pattern, first thing you want to do is to print it. I used size as it is on the pattern but you can also make it bigger or smaller, as you will see I used on Maksim and Pavle back side quilt, and you are ready to go.
There is no rule written in stone how you can choose your fabrics. It’s all up to you, your imagination and your color sensibility, or your clients (but I usually manage to convince them to choose the pallet I like too ). So this is one of my first star blocks! YEEEY!
Once you sew your single star block you can unite them. For baby quilts i usually use 3 blocks in 3 rows that makes a total of 9-star blocks and if I’m not mistaken final size is around 75×75 cm. Of course, you can make as many blocks as you want and you can even make a kings size bed quilt. It will take you more time but final result is rewarding for sure.
